A teen burglary suspect is in the hospital after being shot by the owner of the shop he was targeting.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says the owner of Lighthouse Vape and Smoke Shop on South Dixie Highway woke up to an alert that the alarm was going off at his store at 4 a.m. on Wednesday.
Detectives say the juvenile had thrown a rock through the window and was still there when the owner arrived. The suspect was shot during a confrontation between the two.
The boy is expected to survive and officials say he’ll face charges once he recovers.
The store was open later in the day.
